Audition Repertoire and Rules The audition for NIMF Training program is identical to the Preliminary Round. You may audition live or by a tape. Choose any pieces that show your musicianship and virtuosity to the fullest extent.

Prepare the following items. Bring your own accompanist or perform without one.

Instrumentalists

Db major scale and arpeggio in two or three octaves (slurred and not-slurred)

C melodic minor scale and arpeggio in two or three octaves (slurred and not-slurred)

Slow movement of any piece with or without accompaniment; play excerpts to make it less than 5 minutes

Fast movement of any piece with or without accompaniment; make it less than 5 minutes

Vocalists

Vocalization of your choice that must show your highest and lowest note

Any Italian piece; sing excerpts to make it less than 5 minutes

Any Non-Italian piece; make it less than 5 minutes

by Audio Tape or VHS(NTSC) Video Tape

Record with the best equipment available to you.

Clearly label the tape with your name and instrument

Record above items in the order provided.

Regular and Final Rounds

The committee will decide which excerpts you will perform.

Grand Prix Round

Selected finalists will compete in the Grand Prix Round. Rules are undisclosed.
